AEP English excursion to inspire our young writers

  • Junior School
  • Middle School

Discovering new authors and perspectives on storytelling was the order of the day when our English Academic Extension students attended the Perth Writer's Festival Schools Day Out on Thursday 23 February 2017.

In each 'author talk' students were guided through the issues and ideas that the writers were exploring through the world of storytelling. Between sessions they luxuriated in the beautiful summer weather as they strolled through the UWA grounds.

According to one of our Year 10s "listening to writers discuss struggles with the same issues we have, like high school and friend drama and, most importantly, social issues like bullying, sexism and discrimination makes this a relatable and relevant experience".
