Civics1

Year 9 AEP Creative Designs

  • Middle School

Last term in HASS, students enhanced their knowledge in the subject of Civics and Citizenship. In our 9B class students started by exploring the different forms of government and the limitations and advantages of these different systems. They did this by holding a mini-competition with groups aiming to build the tallest free standing straw tower.

The students had to complete this activity following strict guidelines with some groups appointing a leader who had control and other groups who had to vote on any decisions made. Students found this activity exciting and challenging, allowing for the opportunity to experience a different perspective. Only one group managed to build the tallest free standing tower. Well done to Qi Qi, Millie, Olivia, Paul and Phillip.
