As part of the NAIDOC Week program line up 9-13 November, we had the Specialist AFL Program exhibition inaugural footy match to launch the new Churchlands Indigenous jersey designed by our very own students and Aboriginal artist Jade Dolman.
A group of Aboriginal students attended a two-day fun and interactive leadership training at the school 28-29 July 2020. The objective of the program is to have Aboriginal student leaders learn about their leadership styles and go through a co-design process to determine issues at school.
Year 12 student Zoe Colmer had been writing letters to the staff and residents of #BaptistcareWA aged care home during COVID-19. Zoe's great work was acknowledged by Churchlands SHS and was featured in the West Australian paper on 30 June 2020 as well as Lifeline WA website.
Our talented Year 12 Literature ATAR student Ellen Vigus did our school proud by winning the Scribblers Festival's 2020 The Golden Pen Writing Award. Ellen's writing 'The World Rewound' won the Senior Category for 15-17 year olds.
